Summary: Tom Riddle did not create his fateful Horcruxes, and upon hearing of a child powerful enough to destroy him, he hunted the family of James and Lily Potter. But it all went wrong when his carefully-placed Avada Kedavra curse backfired on him, leaving Tom Marvolo Riddle dead on the floor, and Harry Potter became The Boy Who Lived. Dumbledore feared for the boy's safety and left him in the care of his last two connections to the Wizarding World, James Potter's best friends; Remus Lupin and Harry's godfather, Sirius Black. While they struggled to adjust to parenting, the Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix fought to bring in the last remaining supporters of Voldemort that were still at large. Many Death Eaters fled, or changed their allegiance and sold their fellows out, the latter strategy was used by Peter Pettigrew, who named a few Death Eaters that had managed to stay out of the public eye with their actions. With the looming Death Eater threat, and backlash heavy against free Death Eaters, two young former Death Eaters, Regulus Black and Barty Crouch Jr., are forced to think fast, but it's hard to say whether or not it'll keep them out of Azkaban for long.
